Mr. MacDuff

The preschool program at East Amwell uses the Tools of the Mind curriculum developed at the Metropolitan State College of Denver (http://www.mscd.edu/extendedcampus/toolsofthemind/).  The program serves students ranging from 3 to 5 years of age.  The Tools of the Mind curriculum provides a unique balance of academic instruction and play, with an emphasis on children learning to "self-regulate" their behavior.  Play activities target content areas including personal and social development, language and literacy, mathematical thinking, scientific thinking, social studies, the arts, and physical development and health.  These activities are provided in both small group and large group sessions.

Two sessions are provided each day including an AM session that runs from 8:40 am to 11:10am and a PM session that runs from 12:45 pm to 3:15 pm Monday through Friday.  In order to provide the best possible instruction, class size is limited to 15 children across the school day.
