Closing Procedures
Dear Parents and Guardians:
PLEASE READ
CAREFULLY: The information posted on this web page provides the
measures that will be utilized in the event of an
Emergency School Closing.
In
the event of an inclement weather cancellation or a school closure due to
utility problem, the Emergency Calling System will call the primary
home number on your emergency card. If there is an emergency school closing
during the day, ALL contact numbers (cell, work, etc.) will be called. The
system is capable of delivering up to 5,000 calls per minute and will
generate a report if you have answered the phone so we will know within
minutes if you have been contacted. Since no system is “fail safe” we will
continue to use the alternative weather procedures that are posted on our
web site.
This year
we will be using a new system which will help to alert parents when other
school emergencies occur. We hope to utilize the system for inclement
weather closings, early emergency dismissals, bus route changes or late bus
notification, power outages, event reminders and many more. Some families that have opted not to have their phone number listed on the
Emergency Phone Service will find this posting helpful in finding
alternative school closing sources.
In the event that children are dismissed
early, the School Calling System will be
utilized; however, we encourage you to check the sources listed on this page as
well, as it is often difficult to reach everyone midday.
Names
and numbers on Emergency Card Forms must be accurate and updated. The PTO
and the Emergency Phone System cannot call you if these numbers are not made
available to us.
